Coloplast Vaginal Mesh MDL Goes To Southern District Of West Virginia

More and more lawsuits are being filed for vaginal mesh complications in order for the victims to be compensated for their suffering and pain.St. Louis Vaginal Mesh Attorney

A vaginal mesh lawyer represents a victim of vaginal mesh complications in her fight against the medical device’s manufacturer. Vaginal mesh surgeries have brought about various side effects to many women of different ages. Because of this, more and more lawsuits are being filed in order for the victims to be compensated for their suffering and pain.

A vaginal mesh surgery can result in various cases such as mesh shrinkage, mesh movement, infection, painful sexual intercourse, vaginal movement or migration, vaginal scarring, erosion of the vaginal wall, incontinence, impaired healing, erosion of urinary tract, or need for remedial surgery. The vaginal mesh attorney is able to advise the mesh victim of the proper action to take against the mesh maker.

In a recent development, the US JPML in Cleveland had ruled that with regards to MDL No. 2387 (Colosplast’s Vaginal Mesh MDL) all cases would be moved to the West Virginia’s Southern District. In late July, Attorney Derek H. Potts tried to argue that Coloplast cases be moved to Georgia’s Middle District because his other vaginal mesh cases are also being litigated there (MDL No. 2004 Mentor Corp. Litigation).

With the recent court decision, Potts said that his group will continue to pursue compensation and justice for the victims who had been injured by defective pelvic and vaginal mesh devices. As per the US JPML’s order, all lawsuits will be consolidated at the West Virginia’s Southern District. The lawsuits blame the Coloplast’s vaginal mesh products for different serious damages and injuries to the women who had the vaginal mesh implanted inside their body to treat stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Potts partnered with the Burnett Law Firm and opened a support and review center which is located in Houston, Texas. The center will host different activities in relation to the litigation against the makers of various vaginal mesh products.
